Nigerian music star, Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has achieved another milestone as her debut album, ‘Born in the Wild’, is ranked No. 2 on Billboard’s Best R&B Albums of 2024.
Tems is the only African artiste on the list, which features renowned names like Chris Brown, Bryson Tiller, and Muni Long.
Billboard, in a list released Thursday, December 18, 2024, praised her debut album, describing it as a project that transcends the Afrobeats genre.

“The Nigerian star finds her footing in the global spotlight and stands firmly in her purpose on her dazzling debut album ‘Born in the Wild’, the publication noted.
The album, which blends soulful melodies and personal storytelling, became her highest-charting project on the Billboard Top R&B Albums chart at No. 5.
It also earned her Grammy nominations for Best Global Music Album, Best African Music Performance for ‘Love Me Jeje’, and Best R&B Song for ‘Burning’.
