Video sparks controversy over Bobrisky’s ₦200 million G-Wagon cake

A viral video from Nigerian socialite Bobrisky’s 33rd birthday party has sparked heated debate online, following claims that the centrepiece—a G-Wagon-shaped cake—cost ₦200 million.

Bobrisky, whose real name is Idris Okuneye, celebrated their 33rd birthday on Saturday, August 31st, in Lagos. The video, which quickly circulated on social media platforms, shows Bobrisky cutting the extravagant cake with a sword.

In the background, a voice could be heard asserting that Bobrisky’s cake was worth ₦200 million.

“Tonight, I want to call a few of my friends like forty that supported me when I needed friends around me.

“Let’s party, let’s show off, let’s spend the money. I have to just make everybody happy, chill and it is my fvcking brand thing, so Let’s turn up guys!” Bobrisky said in the video.

“Everyone thought that this was not a cake. It’s actually a cake—₦200 million—and it’s not easy. Ladies and gentlemen, in case you are not aware, this cake is actually a representation of G-Wagon, and she just bought the G-Wagon, 2024 model,” a hypeman’s voice could be heard saying in the video.

The baker, @finaltouchcakes1, sharing the G-Wagon cake, wrote: “All for the Queen of luxury @bobrisky222 ladies and gentlemen I bring to you @bobrisky222 33rd birthday cake. Cake by @finaltouchcakes1.”

Bobrisky’s pre-birthday celebrations

Before the birthday party, Bobrisky shared personal images wearing a green dress. In the post, the socialite boasted about his resilience and kindness.

“Yaaaay it’s mummy of Lagos’s birthday! This girl is the strongest soul I know on earth. She is a baddie with the kindest soul ever,” Bobrisky wrote.

Bobrisky has been involved in various controversies, including legal issues related to currency abuse and a range of public statements that have sparked other debates.
