The Haitian rap star also claimed that he traced his roots to Nigeria in a post he shared on X along with a photo of a model of a building.
“The feedback from the people and the government has been a huge outpouring of love and support! You don’t know where you’re going if you don’t know where you’re from, and my roots trace back to West Africa Nigeria being the strongest I’ve seen so far,” the former Fuggees frontman said in the post.
“I’m proud to say Nigeria is open, transparent, and welcoming to international business!”

It is not clear if Wyclef Jean plans to open a business in Nigeria but the rapper is not a stranger to Nigeria and the Nigerian entertainment scene.
He headlined the Black Gold concert sponsored by Guinness in 2004. He was also in the country for the 2013 Rhythm Unplugged concert.
Wyclef was in Nigeria in December 2014 and expressed his deep love for the country in an Instagram post that announced the visit.
““Haitian Nigerian” when I’m here ! I feel at home and very comfortable,” he said in the post.
The Grammy winner also collaborated on two songs with late Nigerian singer Sound Sultan.
The artist’s call to action, urging others to “repost for Nigeria,” resonates with the idea that this marks a “Nu Day” for West African international business.
