Police operatives have arrested 11 of hoodlums suspected to be cultists, who in the early hours of Thursday, invaded Bayelsa line in Mile 3 Market, Diobu, Port Harcourt.

Police operatives have arrested 11 of hoodlums suspected to be cultists, who in the early hours of Thursday, invaded Bayelsa line in Mile 3 Market, Diobu, Port Harcourt.

The hoodlums allegedly broke into shops and carted away goods and snatched traders of their money and valuables.

Some shop owners who pleaded anonymity said they lost valuables and money.

The Chief Security Officer of Nkpolu Oroworukwo community, Godstime Ihunwo where Mile 3 market is located disclosed that combined efforts of youths, Nkpolu Police Division, Mile 3, and Octopus Strike Force unit led to the arrest of 11 hoodlums suspected to be cultists.

Mr. Ihunwo also condemned the alleged attempt made by the rampaging hoodlums to snatch a rifle from a soldier attached to a construction company working at Ikoku junction, Ikwerre road yesterday.

When contacted the spokesperson for the Rivers State Police command, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Grace Iringe Koko told our correspondent that her office is in the process of issuing a press statement on the incident soon.
