Nigerian travel content creator, Mcdolly Ogundana, popularly known as The9jaboy, has visited his 130th country after completing a four-day expedition to Greenland, marking a major milestone in his more than two decades of international travel.

The feat, achieved between July 31 and August 3 in Nuuk, Greenland, also saw the travel creator document his journey to the Arctic using a Nigerian passport.

This was contained in a statement issued in Ibadan, Oyo State.

According to the statement,  the expedition strengthened The9jaboy’s reputation as one of Nigeria’s most-travelled content creators, having explored 130 countries and documented diverse cultures and destinations around the world.
Greenland, regarded as the world’s largest island and a gateway to the Arctic, offered the Nigerian traveller an opportunity to explore glaciers, fjords and floating icebergs while documenting the region’s landscape through photographs, videos and personal storytelling.

During the four-day expedition, The9jaboy also interacted with members of the Inuit community, sampled traditional cuisine, explored Greenlandic architecture and learned about the customs and heritage of the Indigenous people.
He also hiked across the rugged terrain and met travellers from Switzerland, Japan and Ukraine during the expedition.

One of the highlights of the trip was witnessing the Arctic’s Midnight Sun, with daylight still visible at about 1 a.m.

Reflecting on the milestone, The9jaboy said the journey was about more than adding another country to his travel record, but also about inspiring Nigerians to believe that international travel was achievable despite the challenges associated with travelling with a Nigerian passport.

“This journey was more than reaching another country; it was about pushing boundaries and showing Nigerians that the world is accessible with determination, resilience and proper planning.

“Standing in the Arctic, surrounded by glaciers, fjords and drifting icebergs, was a dream come true and another reminder that there are no limits to where a Nigerian can go,” he said.

The statement said The9jaboy had spent more than 20 years travelling across different parts of the world, documenting cultures, people and destinations while encouraging Nigerians and other Africans to explore places beyond the continent.

His Greenland expedition adds a distinctive Arctic chapter to a travel journey that has now taken him through 130 countries, with the content creator continuing to use his experiences to promote international travel and cultural exploration among Nigerians.
