24-year- old man nabbed for stabbing neighbour to death in Delta
The Police have arrested a 24-year-old man, Nana Oyibo, for allegedly stabbing one Onos Obadeke to death with broken bottles in Sapele, Delta State.
Spokesperson for the command, DSP Bright Edafe, who confirmed the arrest, said he was arrested on Wednesday, while he was on the run after the incident.
The Guardian learnt that the middle-aged man was stabbed on Tuesday evening at Old Eku Road in Sapele, Sapele Local Council of the state.
Sources said the suspect committed the crime over a heated argument and fled thereafter.
It was also learnt that Obadeke fell in the pool of his blood after he was stabbed in the chest by the assailant, before he was rushed to the hospital for treatment and died before medication, having lost so much blood.
According to a source, the suspect and the deceased were living in the same compound, though their families were not on talking terms.
The source said on that fateful day, the siblings were fighting each other until the late Obadeke and Oyibo joined in the fray.
Oyibo then picked up a bottle, broke it and stabbed Obadeke,” the source added.
