To promote love for Nigeria, a Lagos-based real estate firm, Adbond Harvest and Homes Limited has unveiled an agro-to-home initiative, aimed at helping Nigerians secure the future space for the next generation.

Under the project, families are encouraged to see agriculture as property and interesting investment, which will be converted home in future.

Founder and Chief Executive officer of Adbond Harvest and Homes Limited, Mr. Oluwagbemiga Adekoya, who disclosed this, during a media briefing in Lagos, to promote the firm’s love of our nation rally, said the goal was to help families secure future space for the next generation that will help them to have enormous wealth.

He stressed that this year’s rally, which is held every year on October 1, has as its theme: “Uniqueness of our Nation in terms of agriculture.”

According to him, the firm will promote the love of our nation in the heart of the citizen by distributing Nigerian flags and seeds they can use for gardening.

Adekoya, said during research they conducted between 2015 and 2017, they realised that a lot of families did not recognise agriculture as real estate.

He said: “We are now looking at how we can make this count and how we can create a solution. What is actually the need of families out there? We notice that what is in their heart is basically home.

“One of its major needs and then something that could give them a sustainable livelihood so that they can deal with their financial needs by themselves.  So we help them to buy what we called agro to home that we actually do at Adbond Harvest and Homes as a metric of helping families to actually secure future space

“We also fulfil some sustainable development goals such as Zero Hunger, No Poverty, Decent work and economic growth, gender equality, and Sustainable cities and communities.

“We also employ youths for virtual job opportunities and we have employed over 1000.

“We have been able to secure future space for over 2000 households since the inception of the organisation.

“When we look at a place where generations called home right now is what generations have used as a farm, while the current generation is calling a farm is what the next generation will call home. So why not let us engage this simple environment for farming for them whereby they will make little inflow but that little inflow will become something massive with a compound interest rate over time

“We will help them to farm on the land they buy as their own property and we have a management team that helps them take good care of them.

So, we have agricultural partners that are joining us and working with us at Adbond Harvest and Homes. We have one in Obafemi Owode local Council around Governor’s road towards Abeokuta and one in  Lagelu Local Council in Ibadan, Oyo State. Currently, we have one at Mojoda, Epe, Lagos.

“ Initially we were focusing on acres, but we realised that Nigerians in their mind have not got to that. So, we are still selling in plots we have to think of a breakdown and people can now use as low as N12,500 on a monthly basis to own a half plot of land within a year. When they complete their journey of owning land, we tell them to  also consider going into agriculture.”

Also, Executive Partner/Media Team Lead, Mrs. Omowunmi Oluwagbemiga, said the goal of the love of our nation campaign is to make Nigerians useful to the world in terms of agricultural organic foods.

She stressed that other programmes lined up for years, include: Adbond Green Wealth Summit on October 3, launch of my country home on October 20, the novelty match to promote national peace, Adbond Award and Villa owners night.
“We have plans to spread more of our values across the globe where we impact the lives of people looking for ways to increase the quality of livelihood.

“ In addition, we are open to more partnership to the healthy growth of our nation Nigeria. Within that framework we are continuing to devote a lot of attention to the sustainable initiative through means of propagating the agricultural sector, hence we pivot and promote agro to home initiatives in Nigeria.

“So, we are looking at how we can tell people despite the fact that you are a medical doctor despite the fact that you are a legal practitioner or you are a media professional, owning a farm as small as a plot can  contribute to the nation that will help improve the nation’s  Gross Domestic Product (GDP).”
