Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Isiaka Oladayo Amao, yesterday, commended Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, for peace and his administration’s continued support for the Nigerian Air Force and other military formations in the state.

Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Isiaka Oladayo Amao, yesterday, commended Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, for peace and his administration’s continued support for the Nigerian Air Force and other military formations in the state.

Air Officer Commanding (AOC), Ground Training Command, Enugu, Air Vice Marshal I. O. Daramola, who represented Amao, stated this during a visit to Ugwuanyi at Government House, Enugu.

He informed Ugwuanyi of his assumption of office as Air Officer Commanding, Ground Training Command and reassured the governor of his commitment to the security and development of Enugu State.

Stressing the governor’s support in ensuring internal security in the state and beyond, Daramola appreciated the governor “for the support you continue to provide to the Army, Police and the Nigeria Air Force.”

He added: “It is this support that has ensured that Enugu has remained the most peaceful state in the South East geo-political zone.

“That goes with the fact that the legacy infrastructure projects you initiated and completed, especially the roads in Enugu and the rural areas are part of the things that have ensured the state remains peaceful and secure.”

Commended Ugwuanyi for the feat, he added: “Under your leadership in the state, you achieved several development projects, which have curtailed the activities of miscreants in your domain.

“We, therefore, thank you for receiving us and assure you again of the Chief of Air Staff’s highest esteem and regards as well as his continued cooperation to ensure that Enugu State remains safe.”

Responding, Ugwuanyi welcomed the new Air Vice Marshal to Enugu State and stated that his administration’s partnership with the Nigerian Air Force in the state was commendable.

He said the force had always played crucial roles in the security architecture of Enugu State and reassured Daramola that the state government would continue to collaborate with the Air Force and other security agencies to effectively discharge their duties.
