Akeredolu appoints first female SSG in Ondo, four other advisers

Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, has approved the appointment of Catherine Oludunni Odu as the first female Secretary to the State Government (SSG).

Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, has approved the appointment of Catherine Oludunni Odu as the first female Secretary to the State Government (SSG).

This was contained in a statement made available to journalists in Akure, yesterday, by Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the Governor, Olabode Olatunde, announcing the appointment of four other special advisers.

Odu was the Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) before her appointment.

She served in many capacities at both the state and federal levels and was Federal Commissioner, Public Complaints Commission (PCC), and at different times, former Commissioner for Women Affairs and Education respectively.

Similarly, Akeredolu has approved the appointment of the immediate past Head of the State Public Service, Mr. Dare Aragbaiye, as Special Adviser on Union Matters and Special Duties.

Other appointments approved by the governor include Mrs. Olubunmi Ademosu as Special Adviser, Public and Intergovernmental Relations; Babatunde Kolawole (Special Adviser, Rural and Community Development) and Mr. Summy Smart Francis (Special Adviser on Entrepreneurship Development).

Olatunde said the appointments took immediate effect, adding that the appointees would be sworn in on Monday, March 22, 2021, at the Cocoa Conference Hall, Governor’s Office, Alagbaka, Akure, at 1.00 p.m.

The governor, who congratulated the new appointees, urged them to discharge their duties with utmost responsibilities deserving of the new offices and the accompanying responsibilities.
