Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in A’Ibom State has set up an 11-man committee to reconcile members, who felt aggrieved after the party’s primaries.

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in A’Ibom State has set up an 11-man committee to reconcile members, who felt aggrieved after the party’s primaries.

According to the state Chairman of the party, Mr. Aniekan Akpan, the reconciliation is aimed at fostering peace and enhancing greater bond in the party.

It is chaired by Senator Effiong Bob, with Mr. Imo Ibokette, Ambassador Assam Assam, Senator Aloysius Etok, Mr. Uwem Ekanem, Senator Emmanuel Ibokessien, Dr. Ekaette Ebong Okon, Mr. Michael Essang, Mr. Udo Kierian Akpan, Prof. Imaobong Akpan and Mr. Okon Okon, as members.

Speaking shortly before inaugurating the committee, the state party chairman acknowledged the existence of divergent concerns and grievances among members and expressed the party’s interest to address issues of disagreements, adding that the umbrella of the party would accommodate everyone.

Responding, Bob appreciated the opportunity given to him to serve and assured the party of the committee’s readiness to do its best to ensure reconciliation of divergent interests and foster unity in the party.

The committee is expected to submit an interim report within four weeks from the date of the inauguration.
