World Bank-assisted farm owners at Okpuno and Umubor in Umuzu community of Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra State, have cried out over the destruction of their properties and farmlands worth about N10 million, due to flood.

They blamed it on incessant rainfall, poor drainage system and rising water levels in the area.

The Chairman of the Children of the Farmers Club(CFC), Comrade Chris Okwuosa explained that the disaster was caused by the blockage of Sakamori drainage constructed to channel rain water to the River Niger, but which overflew its bank and bounces back to farmlands at Odekpe World Bank Rice project, through Ohita to Atani, before submerging farmlands including the World Bank-assisted FADAMA III projects  facilitated by the CFC.
