Anglican Communion to consecrate four Bishops-elect in August

Primate of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Most Rev’d Henry C. Ndukuba, has approved the consecration service of the newly-elected bishops for Sunday, August 27, 2023.

The service will take place at the Archbishop Vining Memorial Cathedral, Diocese of Lagos West, Anglican Communion.

Church of Nigeria Communication Officer, Korede Akintunde, in a statement, said: ”Recall that after a successful Episcopal Synod held at the Basilica of Grace Anglican Church, Abuja, on June 6, 2023, Primate Ndukuba announced the election of four new bishops to fill vacant Sees, two newly-elected Archbishops for Lagos and Kaduna Provinces and the Dean-elect of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion.

“Those to be consecrated are The Venerable Collins Babalola for Ajayi Crowther Diocese, The Venerable Festus Nwafili for Ndokwa Diocese, The Venerable Ifedola Okupevi for Lagos Diocese and The Venerable Ebenezer Saiki for Akoko-Edo Diocese.

“Others to be presented include Dean-elect, The Most Rev’d (Dr.) Blessing Enyindah, two Archbishops-elect; The Most Rev’d (Dr.) Michael Fape of Remo Diocese for Lagos Province and The Rt. Rev’d Timothy Yahaya of Kaduna Diocese for Kaduna Province.”

The Primate urged the church to pray for the newly-elected Bishops and Archbishops as they go into their new places of assignment and for safe travel for all the attendees during and after the service.
