APC applauds Oborevwori on developmental strides in Delta

Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has applauded the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, for what it described as remarkable developmental strides and purposeful leadership in the delivery of critical infrastructure across the state.

APC’s National Publicity Secretary, Barr. Felix Morka, in a statement on Tuesday, expressed delight over the governor’s commitment to people-oriented projects, citing the recent ground-breaking ceremony of the Uromi Junction Flyover in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area, as a major milestone.

The N59.7 billion flyover project, awarded to Julius Berger and scheduled for completion within 14 months, is expected to bring lasting relief to residents and commuters who have endured years of traffic congestion and fatal road accidents at the busy interchange.

The APC noted that while Agbor and Ika Nation are the immediate beneficiaries, the strategic location of the flyover at a major transport corridor linking the East, West, North and South-South makes it a project of national significance.

The party said the intervention would boost economic activities, ease traffic gridlock, enhance security and improve the overall well-being of road users.

The party further recalled that the Agbor flyover ceremony came barely a week after Governor Oborevwori flagged off the N39.3 billion Otovwodo Junction Flyover in Ughelli, Ughelli North Local Government Area.

It added that ongoing construction at PTI Junction, DSC Roundabout and Enerhen Junction brings the total number of flyover projects under construction in the state to five.

Beyond infrastructure, the APC highlighted the governor’s implementation of the MORE Agenda—Meaningful Development, Opportunities for All, Realistic Reforms and Enhanced Peace and Security—which it said has translated into tangible benefits for Deltans.

These include the clearance of pension and gratuity backlogs, investments in human capital development, payment of monthly stipends to 10,000 widows, support for MSMEs through collaboration with the Bank of Industry, improved funding for tertiary institutions and the acquisition of advanced medical diagnostic equipment for state hospitals.

The party also acknowledged Governor Oborevwori’s alignment with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, noting that improved federal revenue inflows following the president’s economic reforms have enhanced the state’s capacity to deliver dividends of democracy.

The APC recalled that the governor made history in April 2025 by leading the entire structure of the former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State into the APC, a move it said has strengthened national support for the Tinubu administration’s reform agenda.

The party thereby urged the governor to sustain the momentum in improving the living conditions of Deltans, while reaffirming its support for his development-driven governance.
