A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Saidu Ugonoh, has described the party’s 2026 National Convention as a strong endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Ugonoh, a former Kogi State governorship aspirant, made the remarks in a statement issued through his media office on Friday, the opening day of the convention taking place at Eagle Square, Abuja.
Speaking from the venue, he commended the president for what he termed “transformational reforms” under the Renewed Hope agenda, noting that the policies have had a significant impact on the Nigerian economy.
He also praised Tinubu’s leadership style, describing it as inclusive and instrumental in strengthening the party’s national appeal.
According to Ugonoh, the APC’s expanding control of states reflects growing public acceptance of its policies and leadership direction.
He added that increased alignment between federal and state governments under the party has improved policy coordination and enhanced grassroots mobilisation.
Ugonoh further pointed to the large turnout of party members at the convention as evidence of renewed energy within the party’s structure.
He urged party leaders, particularly those vying for positions, to prioritise unity and collective effort in securing victory for the APC in the 2027 elections.
