The gunmen ravaging Zamfara State have killed over 21 villagers, abducting scores in a Zamfara community.
This medium gathered that the gunmen stormed the village with over 80 motorcycles and started shooting sparodically fire, mostly on women, and stole livestock.
According to resident who pleaded anonymity told this medium via telephone interview that the attack occurred on Friday at around 9 pm.
He said that the residents were still searching for missing persons, adding that the funeral arrangements were underway for the deceased.
He called on the Federal and Zamfara state governments to come to their aid by deploying security personnel to the area to restore peace.
“I am calling on the authorities, particularly the federal government and Zamfara state government, to deploy more security personnel to our local government to address the lingering insecurity affecting us”. He said
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Yazid Abubakar, by our Correspondent confirmed the incident, noting that the number of deaths was unspecified.
According to him, the command has deployed adequate personnel to the area, adding that normalcy has been restored.
DSP Yazid Abubakar urged the communities to always cooperate with the police by providing accurate information on the movement of the bandits for prompt response.
