Political stakeholders within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Katsina State have reportedly endorsed Hon. Aminu Ibrahim Kafur as the party’s consensus candidate for the Malumfashi/Kafur Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections.

 

The decision, reached after consultations among party leaders and stakeholders within the constituency, is being viewed as a strategic move aimed at strengthening party unity and avoiding internal divisions ahead of the polls.

Sources familiar with the development said the endorsement followed a series of engagements involving influential party figures, local leaders, and political blocs across the constituency.

The emergence of Aminu Ibrahim Kafur as consensus candidate is expected to shape the political atmosphere within Malumfashi/Kafur, particularly as parties gradually begin early positioning and alliance-building ahead of the 2027 elections.

Supporters of the APC in the area have described the move as a step toward consolidating party structure and maintaining cohesion within the constituency.
