APC supporters pray for Tinubu, endorse Hamzat for Lagos guber race

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu has been described as a focused and visionary leader whose administration has continued to strengthen the nation’s economy and tackle insecurity, making him deserving of a second term in office.

This was the consensus, yesterday, at a special congregational prayer session organised by the Renewed Hope Network (TRN) at Tafawa Balewa Square, where prominent leaders and supporters of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) gathered to pray for the President and endorse his re-election bid.

The event attracted top political figures, including Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu; his deputy, Obafemi Hamzat; former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, and several APC stalwarts across Lagos State.

Participants at the gathering unanimously endorsed Tinubu for a second term and threw their weight behind Hamzat as the preferred successor to Sanwo-Olu in the 2027 Lagos governorship race.

In his prayers for the President, Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Lagos State chapter, and Aso Rock Chaplain, Bishop Stephen Adegbite, prayed fervently for divine strength, wisdom and protection for Tinubu.

Adegbite prayed that God would renew the President’s strength “like the eagle” and shield him from every form of evil, while also praying for the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu.

Also, Director-General of the Renewed Hope Network, Mohammed Oyinlomo Danmole, described the organisation as a grassroots political movement committed to mobilising support for Tinubu’s re-election.

According to him, the network is focused on taking the Renewed Hope Agenda directly to the grassroots through community engagement and local mobilisation strategies.

The Lagos State Convener of TRN, James Faleke, said Lagos remained a testament to Tinubu’s enduring political legacy and developmental vision.

Faleke noted that the President laid the foundation upon which successive administrations in Lagos State had continued to build.

In his goodwill message, Bello described Tinubu as a courageous and forthright leader who played a significant role in his political journey and emergence as governor of Kogi State.

He promised that the people of Kogi State would continue to align with the progressive ideals championed by Lagos State and the Tinubu administration.

Hamzat, while appreciating the party faithful and supporters for their prayers and endorsements, urged Nigerians not only to support the APC but also to participate actively in the electoral process by casting their votes.

Also speaking, Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, described Tinubu as “not just a name, but a movement,” noting that his influence and political ideology had continued to shape governance and leadership across the country.
