…As Integrity Group commends Tinubu for improving economy

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State has pledged to conduct an issue-based campaign ahead of the 2027 general elections, warning politicians and their supporters against violence, inflammatory statements and other actions capable of threatening the prevailing peace in the state.

The party also declared that it would not resort to electoral malpractice, insisting that its campaign would be anchored on the performance of President Bola Tinubu’s administration at the federal level and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s government in Delta State.

The Chairman of the Media and Publicity Committee of the Delta State APC Campaign Council, Mr Charles Aniagwu, gave the assurance on Monday in Asaba while unveiling members of the committee to journalists.

Aniagwu said the party was committed to a peaceful electoral process and would focus on presenting its achievements and programmes to the electorate rather than engaging in violence or activities capable of undermining the credibility of the 2027 elections.

He, however, cautioned political actors against making statements capable of inciting violence, warning that inflammatory rhetoric could provoke supporters into taking the law into their own hands.

According to him, the state government would not tolerate violence from any individual or political group, irrespective of political affiliation or background.

In a separate media interaction in Asaba on Monday, the Director-General of the Integrity Group of Nigeria, Delta State chapter, Dr Oke Idawene, commended President Tinubu for what he described as efforts to restore the dignity of the country and improve the Nigerian economy.

Idawene, said the President had demonstrated courage and preparedness in addressing the country’s challenges.

He described Tinubu as a leader who was willing to take difficult decisions in the interest of the nation, arguing that his approach to governance distinguished him from previous administrations.

According to him, the President’s leadership had demonstrated that effective governance required the capacity to make necessary decisions for the benefit of the people.

Idawene expressed confidence in the APC’s political prospects, declaring his support for the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He also commended Governor Oborevwori, whom he described as one of the major pillars of the APC in Delta State, for his role in strengthening the party and advancing the state’s development agenda.

The Integrity Group director-general said the governor’s MORE Agenda, now aligned with the Renewed Hope agenda of the Tinubu administration, provided a framework for the party’s campaign ahead of the next general elections.

He pointed to ongoing construction projects across Delta State as evidence of the administration’s commitment to infrastructure development, describing the state as a construction site.

According to him, the continued execution of projects across the state has strengthened the APC’s position as it prepares to approach the electorate for another mandate.

Idawene further described the APC as an organised political platform capable of mobilising support for its candidates and programmes, urging residents and party supporters to rally behind the party.

He expressed optimism that the policies of the federal and state governments would translate into greater prosperity for Nigerians, adding that the party hoped to convince voters through its achievements and development plans.
