Ashafa foundation unveils capacity programme for constituents
Senator Gbenga Ashafa yesterday announced the sponsorship of hundreds of his constituents for a capacity development programme organised by BTDT Hub. This is in line with Ashafa’s biannual youth development programme aimed and training, preparing and empowering young people for the life ahead of them.
Ashafa through his foundation, Gbenga Ashafa Trust Endowment (GATE), has over the last 8 years facilitated entrepreneurial training for young people in his constituency and provided seed capital to start up their various enterprise.
In a statement released by his aide, “Ashafa emphasized the need for continuous learning and capacity development in a highly fluid and dynamic world, believing that this training by BTDT Hub, led by Dr Dipo Awojide, will help brush the employability, leadership and technical skills of his constituents”.
“There is no better investment any nation can make than in the capacity and capabilities of its young ones”, Ashafa said. “We don’t train these young ones because we want to win elections, we do this to invest in their future and to give them an opportunity for a better life.”
