Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and the National Chairman, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, have paid a condolence visit to the former governor of Plateau State, Jonah Jang, at his Du country home in Jos over Saturday’s accident that left 16 party supporters dead and 83 others injured.

The supporters were reportedly returning from the party’s zonal rally in Pankshin when the truck conveying them crashed near a bridge in Panyam community of Mangu Local Council.

Atiku described the accident as painful, adding that their sacrifices would not go in vain.
“For us, it is very painful for the lives of the young ones to be cut short at their prime. We are with you in prayers in this sad moment and we want to assure you that we will stand by you to make sure that those in the hospital receive the best medical attention.”

Commending Jang for the leadership of the PDP in Plateau, Atiku announced a cash donation of N30 million in aid of the accident victims, who are still receiving treatment at the various hospitals in the state.
