Police confirm kidnap of ACP
Bandits have kidnapped some travellers on Kachia-Kaduna highway, abandoning the two cars belonging to the victims along the road.

Soldiers on patrol reportedly arrived at the scene after the bandits had taken the occupants of the Golf wagon and Toyota Sport into the bush.

The kidnappers were said to have taken the victims at gunpoint between Sabengi and Ido villages.

Attempt by journalists to extract words from the police spokesman, DSP Yakubu Sabo, was not successful.

However, a motoris, who escaped the kidnap incident by a hair’s breadth, Bege Mark, messaged the chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Kaduna State, Rev. Joseph Hayab, that “Boat Barnabas of Federal Ministry of Health has been kidnapped just now with other people along Kachia/Kaduna road.

“I am at the scene now. Three minutes delay saved me; I would have gone.”

Similarly, the Kaduna State Police Command has confirmed Saturday’s kidnap of an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Musa Rambo, the area commander of Suleja, along Kaduna/Jos road.

The Police Public relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Yakubu Sabo, stated yesterday that on Saturday, October 19, 2019 about 1530hrs, a team of Operation Safe Heaven along Barde/Jos road reported that Rambo’s police identity card was found in a Nissan Murano (KRD 753 BT) abandoned around Kanock Bridge, on Kaduna/Nasarawa border.

Even as the command said contact had been established with the kidnappers who were requesting ransom, it maintained that efforts were on top gear to rescue the ACP and arrest the culprits.

He enjoined Kaduna residents to continue to support the police with relevant information that will help in overcoming insecurity.
