The British American Tobacco Nigeria Foundation (BATNF) has announced the commencement of applications for the 2025 edition of its flagship Farmers for the Future (F4F) Grant, aimed at supporting young Nigerians, including members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), to develop sustainable agribusiness ventures.
In a statement released Friday, BATNF said applications opened on July 7 and will close on July 20, 2025. Prospective applicants are required to download the BATNF Mobile App, available on both Google Play and the App Store, to complete the application process.
Now in its sixth year, the F4F programme offers up to ₦10 million in equity funding, participation in a structured business accelerator bootcamp, one year of customised mentorship, and access to a network of young agri-entrepreneurs across the country.
Oludare Odusanya, General Manager of BAT Nigeria Foundation, said the initiative is designed to provide more than just financial support.
“At BATNF, we believe agriculture is a powerful tool for economic empowerment and national development,” Odusanya said.
“Farmers for the Future is more than a grant; it is an opportunity to build youth-led agribusinesses that create jobs, strengthen food security, and inspire innovation across Nigeria’s agricultural value chain.”
According to the foundation, previous beneficiaries of the grant have expanded from running small-scale vegetable farms to managing structured, full-scale agribusinesses that contribute meaningfully to their local economies.
The programme also includes training in financial management, strategic planning, and sustainable farming practices, with the aim of reducing post-harvest losses, enhancing market access, and improving competitiveness.
“We want to see more young people take the lead in agriculture, bringing fresh ideas and sustainable practices to feed our nation and the world,” Odusanya added.
Young farmers and corps members with viable agribusiness ideas are encouraged to submit their applications before the July 20 deadline.
