Bauchi governor sacks adviser, 45 days after appointment

Governor Bala Muhammed of Bauchi State has sacked his Special Adviser on Political Affairs, Musa Haruna Shittu, who was appointed alongside three other aides on July 18 this year.

Governor Bala Muhammed of Bauchi State has sacked his Special Adviser on Political Affairs, Musa Haruna Shittu, who was appointed alongside three other aides on July 18 this year.

Bala relieved Musa Haruna of his duty yesterday via a press release made available to The Guardian and signed by his spokesperson, Ladan Salihu.

He said: “The Governor has approved the disengagement of Musa Haruna Shittu as Special Adviser on Political Affairs with immediate effect. The governor thanks the former special adviser for his contributions towards the development of the state and wishes him success in his future endeavors.”

Haruna, a former state lawmaker was the chairman of Zaki local council and former state chairman of the All Nigerian Peoples Party (ANPP). He was a member of the PDP before his appointment.

Haruna is the first appointee to be sacked by Bala, who did not give reason for the sack.
