Bauchi seeks contractors’ aid to curb flood
Bauchi State government has sought the help of contractors handling projects in the state to “unblock major drainages and culverts” to reduce the incessant flooding as part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR).
About four people had reportedly been killed by flood and over 100 homes washed away.
Governor Bala Muhammed was “deeply saddened by the unfortunate development, which has caused devastation to many families”, his spokesman, Ladan Salihu, stated yesterday.
He said: “The governor has already directed the ministry of works to mobilise engineers and liaise with contractors handling road projects in the capital to unblock major drainages and culverts.
This should be part of their corporate social responsibility.”
