Former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has warned individuals he described as “political criminals” in the state to prepare for the consequences of their actions, saying such conduct would no longer be tolerated.
Bello made the remarks while addressing supporters in a video, the former governor specifically referenced Kogi Central, alleging that some individuals were engaging in what he termed political criminality.
Although he did not mention any individual by name, Bello said those who believed his comments were directed at them should reflect on their conduct.
“The political criminals within us in Kogi State, get ready. The political criminals within Kogi Central, get ready. We are coming after you,” he said.
Clarifying that he was not targeting any specific person, Bello added, “I didn’t mention anybody’s name. If you found yourself to be that political enemy, that political criminal, criminality is criminality. You cannot tell me that because it is campaign season, you use your mouth to malign me and I will not come against you.”
He further declared that the era of tolerating such actions had ended.
“Old time is gone. This is a new era,” Bello said.
The former governor also expressed confidence in the leadership of Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying both leaders would steer the state and the country toward what he described as the “Promised Land.”
“By the grace of God, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will lead us to the Promised Land,” he added.
