Acting Chief Judge of Benue State, Justice Maurice Ahemba Ikpambese, has said in three months, machinery will be put in place to kick-start family court in the state.

He made the disclosure yesterday at an interactive session with the Director/Chief Executive of Centre for Women, Youth and Community Action (NACWYCA), Dr. Nawani Aboki, in Makurdi.

The acting CJ commended NACWYCA for ensuring creation of family court and implementation of the child rights law in the zone and across the federation.

He stated that Benue takes children welfare as paramount, knowing that the future rests in their hands.

His words: “Everything is set for the family court to move on in the state. All we need do now is to secure a good infrastructure that will both accommodate the family court and our magistrates not later than three months from now.”

Responding, Dr. Aboki thanked the acting CJ for the cooperation in establishing the court in Benue state.
