BON inaugurates award steering committee

The Steering Committee for the Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria (BON) Award has been inaugurated.

Performing the inauguration of the panel, yesterday, BON Chairman, John Ugbe, called on the members to ensure that they deliver the best ceremony to the admiration of all stakeholders in the broadcast industry.

The composition of the committee was approved by the 76th General Assembly of BON held in Abuja in March this year.

The committee elected Guy Murray Bruce of Silverbird and Bayo Awosemo of Arise Television as Chairman and Vice-Chairman.

Members include Okpanachi Stephen Moses of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA); Channels TV’s Deji Balogun; Patrick Ugbe of HIT FM; Mrs. Chinyere Ukaegbu of Abuja Broadcasting Corporation; Dr. Andah David Angbazo of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN); Dr. Busola Tejumola of MultiChoice; Mrs. Oladeinde Modupe of DAAR Communications Plc; Malam Ibrahim Ismaila Ahmed of KSMC; Dr. Yemisi Bamgbose as ex-officio and Umar Usman Bello as secretary of the committee.

In his acceptance speech, Bruce promised to serve and ensure the effective coordination of the committee.

Consultant to BON on the award, Jenkins Alumona, MD/CEO, Strategic Outcomes Ltd., promised to work effectively with the committee to stage an award ceremony that would be a reference point.
