Buhari meets Okonjo-Iweala in Aso Rock
The Director-General of the World Trade Organisation (WTO), Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala is meeting in a closed-door currently with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Okonjo-Iweala, Nigeria’s former Minister of Finance is on a five-day working visit, two weeks after she resumed the office of the global body on 1st March 2021.
The former Nigerian finance minister flew into the country last Saturday.
In her delegation are the ministers of Industry, Trade and Investment, Niyi Adebayo, Foreign Affairs, Geoffery Onyeama, and minister of state Industry, Trade and Investment, Maryam Katagum.
She is expected to later address newsmen after the closed-door with President Buhari.
Her visit, ostensibly, is to enable her to show appreciation for the support she got from the federal government towards her emergence as DG of the WTO.
