The Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has approved the appointment of Dr. Mohammed Goje as the substantive Secretary to State Government (SSG) for the State.
Goje’s confirmed appointment, followed the former SSG, Baba Malam Wali resignation to contest for the 2027 governorship election
Dr. Goje, who has been serving as the acting SSG, since April 29, 2026, was the Executive Secretary of the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA).
His over a decade experience in emergency management is being expected to significantly enhance the State’s governance capabilities.
Charging Goje on his appointment on Wednesday in Damaturu, Buni emphasized the importance of justifying this new appointment by contributing significantly to good governance and ensuring improved service delivery for the people of Yobe state.
“Yoir appointment is seen as a strategic move towards maintaining efficiency in the state’s administrative framework,” said Buni.
As Goje takes on his new role, people’s eyes will be set on his enormous efforts to meet the expectations set forth by the Governor and the citizens of the state.
