Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni has led the All Progressives Congress (APC) Strategic Conflict-Resolution and Mobilisation Committee (CRMC) ahead of the 2027 general elections in Nigeria.
According to him, the committee is tasked with mapping out strategies to resolve pending conflicts and other potential political threats to the ruling party.
Inaugurating the CRMC last month in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, Buni said: “This committee will adopt and implement strategic engagements with wider consultations in developing an all-encompassing productive result from the aggrieved party members and stakeholders.”
He added that the conflict-resolution high-powered committee would stand the test of time by providing both old and new members of the APC, particularly the aggrieved ones, with a sense of belonging and inclusiveness, fostering renewed hope in the forthcoming presidential and gubernatorial elections.
The committee will also consider proactive measures that could provide long-term solutions to potential threats to the ruling party through conflict-resolution approaches at the state and national levels.
State governors and other APC stalwarts at the inauguration included Governors Abdulrahman AbduRazak, Hope Uzodimma, Hyacinth Alia, Uba Sani, Siminalayi Fubara, and Umar Namadi of Kwara, Imo, Benue, Kaduna, and Rivers states, respectively.
Others included Cross River State Governor Bassey Otu, Ekiti State Governor Abiodun Oyebanji, and Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
The APC stalwarts also comprise Senator Adamu Aliero, the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, former Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello; Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the President on Political Affairs, Alhaji Ibrahim Masari; and Muiz Banire (SAN), who also served as Secretary of the committee.
Buni urged members of the party not to allow personal interests and sentiments to override the general purpose for which the high-powered committee was constituted.
