According to Halcyon Court,Grace Maume Arase, An Enforcement Officer from LASSAA, along with armed policemen, destroyed unregistered framed flex banners for Halcyon Court, a luxury residential development by Apartment Ahead Ltd. This action was taken despite issuing only one short notice to the developers. They also took the frames after removing the banners.
While LASSAA did issue a prior notice, they did not paste any removal notice or give the company adequate chance to regularize the signage. According to the head of communications at LASSAA, the proper protocol required placing removal notice stickers on the signage, not destroying it. This has led to significant disruption for the developers, who are still in the construction phase of the project.

Mr. Quadri Abubakar, Business Development Manager of Apartment Ahead Ltd, expressed frustration over the incident: “The actions of LASSAA are deeply concerning. Even with a prior notice, the destruction of our sign post without following proper procedures is unacceptable and has caused unnecessary disruption.”
The Halcyon Court incident has raised broader questions within the development community about LASSAA’s enforcement methods. Developers and business owners are calling for more transparent guidelines and strict adherence to due process to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
Stakeholders are demanding accountability from LASSAA officials and a review of its operational procedures. The removal of signage, even with prior notice and no chance to regularize, has raised concerns about the agency’s adherence to due process and its impact on businesses. ‘Now that the signage has been destroyed, how do we now register it?’
