Minister for Interior, Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola, yesterday charged civil society and non- governmental organisations (NGOs) to campaign against drug addiction and encourage youths to key into government’s development programmes.

Aregbesola, who stated this when members of Centre for Peace and Environmental Justice (CEPEJ) visited him in his office in Abuja, advised them to focus on education and advocacy towards eliminating drug addiction in the country.

He said education was the bedrock of all forms of development, saying efforts by civil society organisations would bridge the gap as obtains in the developed countries of the world.

Speaking, National Coordinator of CEPEJ, Sheriff Mulade, noted that over 90 per cent of its funds come from a private source, adding that they would work with other groups to develop programmes in with the ministry to discourage drug abuse.
