Enthronement Assembly Church has given awards of recognition to officers of the Federal Road Safety Corp [FRSC] for their excellent and impeccable contribution to the Lagos metropolis.
Tagged ‘FRSC Appreciation Service,’ the church hosted 45 men and women of the government agency, showing them the support and appreciation worthy of the tireless effort they put into ensuring the safety of the city’s motorists and other road users, as well as ensuring compliance with traffic and road-worthiness laws.
The Lead Pastor of Enthronement Assembly, Reverend Deji Olabode, said the awards were to appreciate those who make the country saner and safer.
Olabode explained the idea behind the church’s gesture, saying, “We just came to the awareness that some of the people in our society who are getting the major work done are not getting the recognition that is needed for the kind of results that they generate.
“So we decided to, once in a while, focus on different sectors of society, just let them know that they are not alone. We do what we can within our purview to honour them materially and financially just to encourage them.
“The FRSC Appreciation Service is part of Enthronement Assembly’s consistent push to recognise and dignify hardworking but often overlooked members of the society with deserved recognition. In 2022, we hosted officers of Lagos State’s Traffic Management Agency (LASTMA) and Street Valets around CBD, Agidingbi, where the church is currently located,” he said.
In his remark, the Lagos Sector Corp Commander, Babatunde Farinloye, expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the church for the recognition, while also sensitising those present on the need to abide by traffic laws at all times.
“Let us always reverence God through our obedience to traffic rules and regulations, before encouraging people to shun driving against traffic. Please, when you are on the road and others are driving against traffic, don’t be unequally yoked,” he advised.
The recipients of the awards are Road Safety Marshal Tayo Ogundele, Road Safety Marshal Omowande Ajayi, and Officer Olabisi Sonusi, all three of whom have a track record of diligence, dedication and a penchant for excellence in service, according to the church.
