Cleric implores Nigerians to return to God
The Baba Aladura and Prelate of the Eternal Sacred Order of the Cherubim and Seraphim Worldwide, His Most Eminence (Dr.) David D. L. Bob-Manuel, has called on all Nigerians to return to God and live in holiness for the country to end the many tribulations facing it.
In his New Year message, Bob-Manuel also charged Nigerians to ensure that the country remained in peace even as it prepares for general elections next month.
The prelate, who expressed displeasure seeing Nigerians, especially Christians, that were charged to be the light and salt of the world “living in falsehood, in deceit, in filth, in complacency, in fear, in malice and in anger, said: “You are all aware that in this 21st century in particular, the Nigerian nation and indeed the world at large has gone through tribulations, terrorism, famine, war, kidnapping, robbery and so on. This is because mankind has abandoned the ways of God and taken to carnal thinking and no one remembers that righteousness exalts a nation but sin is a reproach to any people.
“I want to remind you all that the devil has deceived you enough with its gross darkness all over the earth. I urge you to live in peace with all and the God of love and peace shall give us a peaceful atmosphere of electioneering campaign and election devoid of rancour. It is the desire of God that you depart from evil and do good, seek peace and pursue it.”
He further enjoined Christians, particularly those in government positions, to be the transforming instrument they were intended for even in the face of temptation and persecution.
He prayed for the Nigerian nation to witness unprecedented breakthrough in 2019, and absolute peace that passes all human understanding.
