The Pastor, Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), City of David, Gbolade Okenla, has charged Christians to show love to the world, despite persecution, tension and other challenges.

He spoke during the church’s Elders’ Week and medical outreach to Dakibiyu community, an urban slum in Jabi District of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Over 500 residents of the community received free medical consultation, Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) vaccination, deworming, Vitamin A supplementation, antenatal care, blood sugar test and free drugs among others.

Okenla said the church was worried about the poor sanitary condition and lack of basic social amenities in the community, adding that the outreach was part of the mandate of the General Overseer, Enoch Adeboye, for RCCG parishes to embark on regular Christian Social Responsibility, which has seen the church provide welfare support to the indigent. He urged Christians to continue showing love to their neighbours and communities in the face of Nigeria’s mounting challenges.
