The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) has promoted 62 senior officers that participated in the 2019 promotion exercise conducted by the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB).
In a statement signed by the Deputy Controller-General of Corrections in charge of Human Resources on behalf of the Controller General of Corrections, John Mrabure, said the promotion was sequel to the approval of the board.

The affected officers, according to the document, included 25 controllers that attained the ranks of assistant controller-general and 37 deputy controllers that got elevated to controllers.
It further stated that of the 25 newly promoted assistant controllers general, there were 22 general duty officers, a medical doctor, a veterinary doctor and a nurse.
Furthermore, a breakdown of the 37 new controllers sowed that 27 are general duty officers, while three are medical doctors with one public health official, three pharmacists, one caterer and three nurses.
