Crime rate in Agege has reduced drastically, says pastor


Agege, Lagos

The reduction in crime rate in Agege area of Lagos State has been attributed to cooperation between the police, residents and religious bodies domiciled in the volatile community.

The Agege area superintendent of the Apostolic church, Felix Olotu, who disclosed this at a briefing on the forthcoming Silver Jubilee Convention of the Church scheduled for September 6 to 8, 2019, said as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), its financial participation and physical activities in the area of security has helped reduce rate of crime and other vices.

He noted that the church has mapped out plans to develop the youth on strong foundation and life skills, which are the primary tools for success in life, thereby equipping them with employable skill that will make employers rather than employees.

The cleric said the convention themed; The Glorious Majesty Of His Kingdom will be marked with series of events including marriage, health seminars among others for spiritual deepening and enrichment.
