DELSU Medical Alumni set to explore new frontiers at 2026 General Meeting

The DELSU Medical School Alumni Association (DUMSAA) has announced its first Ordinary General Meeting (OGM) for 2026, an event designed to spark conversations on the evolving role of medical professionals in modern society.

DUMSAA made the announcement in a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Dr. Nze Ifeanyi-Victor, and made available to journalist on Thursday.

The meeting will be held virtually on Sunday, 29 March 2026, at 7:00 PM (Nigeria Time) via Microsoft Teams.

This year’s theme, “Beyond Clinical Practice: Building Impactful Careers in Health and Society on the Journey to Self‑Actualization,” reflects a growing shift in the medical community toward broader career pathways that integrate leadership, innovation, and social impact.

The keynote address will be delivered by Prof. John Ohaju‑Obodo, a respected scholar whose work spans medical education, pharmacology, and health systems strengthening.

DUMSAA President Dr. Kennedy O. Obohwemu described the upcoming meeting as a timely opportunity for alumni to rethink their professional journeys.

“Our goal is to encourage colleagues to embrace the full spectrum of opportunities available within and beyond medicine,” he said. “This meeting is about rediscovering purpose, expanding influence, and building careers that make a meaningful difference in society.”

The Association notes that the virtual format will allow participation from alumni across continents, fostering a diverse exchange of ideas and experiences.

Members are encouraged to attend, connect with peers, and contribute to shaping the future direction of the alumni body.
