The Nigerian Institution of Surveyors (NIS), Lagos State Branch, has implored the state government to discontinue preventing surveyors from carrying out their professional services

The Nigerian Institution of Surveyors (NIS), Lagos State Branch, has implored the state government to discontinue preventing surveyors from carrying out their professional services in areas said to be under acquisition.

The Chairman of the institute, Surv Adeleke Adesina, who spoke during the donation of a 2019 Peugeot ambulance to the state government said: “This is more so as property owners cannot proceed with development without knowing the status of the property through land information which in turn cannot be done without the property being properly surveyed.”

In a statement, yesterday, he disclosed that the institute donated the ambulance because it is a common knowledge that the government cannot carry out the fight against coronavirus alone.

He also commended Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for showing leadership in the efforts to tackle the pandemic in the state.

“We are impressed by the manner in which the state has so far handled the pandemic. On our part, we started to support the government by placing advisory jingles in both English and Yoruba languages and mass production of face masks.”

The Deputy Chief of Staff, Gboyega Sayannwo, who received the ambulance, the keys and documents on behalf of the state government, commended the institute and its members for supporting the state’s effort in tackling the pandemic.
