DPR cautions against hoarding of fuel
The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) has cautioned against hoarding of petroleum products in the country, saying depot owners should desist from hoarding of the products in their facilities.
In a statement issued in Abuja yesterday, Director of DPR, Sarki Auwalu, said the agency was concerned about reports on the wholesome activities of some depot owners who have created artificial scarcity by hoarding products in parts of the country.
“Their nefarious activities is causing untold hardships to Nigerians. From available records, there are sufficient products in the country and as such, there is no need for such practices by unpatriotic citizens,” he said.
He stressed that the DPR, as the licence issuer to all oil and gas facilities in Nigeria including depots, would not hesitate to sanction any depot found wanting in this regard.
