Dr. Goje assumes office as Yobe SSG

The former Executive Secretary of the Yobe State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Dr. Mohammed Goje, has formally assumed office as the acting Secretary to the State Government (SSG) to sustain the delivery of public serves to the people in the state.

Goje’s official assumption of duty, followed a ceremonial handing over conducted on Tuesday in Damaturu, the state capital at the SSG conference hall in the Governor’s office.

The event, attended by the Commissioners for Health and Human Services, and the Humanitarian Affairs, marked a significant and smooth administrative transition in public service delivery.

The Permanent Secretary, Administration and General Services, Alhaji Madu, who handed over to Dr. Mohammed Goje pledged the full cooperation of all the management and staff in supporting the new SSG in according topmost priorities in the health, education, agriculture, environment, transport sectors of the state’s local economy.

Accepting the taking over as the new SSG, Goje expressed his deep appreciation to Governor Mai Mala Buni for the trust reposed in him.

The SSG described the new appointment as both an honour and a call to higher services delivery to members of the public living in rural and urban centres of the state.

Goje, therefore described the SSG’s office, as an engine room of governance, and committed to strengthening coordination in the Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), by enhancing accountability and transparency to ensure policies and programmes that could lead to productive and tangible results in the critical sectors of the economy.

Goje acknowledged the administration’s achievements in the security, infrastructure, education, healthcare, and agriculture, pledging to build on these gains through what he described as, “improved efficiency and service delivery to the people.

He also paid gliwing tribute to his predecessor, Alhaji Baba Mallam Wali for his distinguished services rendered across the state..

The stakeholders present at the handing over ceremony expressed their confidence that the new SSG will bring in renewed energy, discipline, and strategic direction to inclusive governance at the state and council levels.

The ceremony was attended by the Special Adviser on Security, Permanent Secretaries, senior. government officials, and associates of the new SSG.
