The Department of State Services (DSS) has said 17 suspected criminal elements of different gangs have been arrested in different parts of the country, with specialty in kidnapping and pipeline vandalism, as well as a member of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) who had planned to carry out coordinated attacks on some critical locations, including the Computer Village in Ikeja, Lagos State.

A statement issued yesterday in Abuja by the spokesman of the service, Mr. Tony Opiuyo, said all the inroads were achieved in the month of June 2016, as part of the security measures put in place to checkmate the upsurge in incidence of kidnapping, pipeline vandalism among others.

The statement further said, “A series of special tactical operations were carried out by this service, where successful arrests of masterminds of these criminal gangs were made by the Service, while their hide-outs were decimated”.

It named Kabiru Shuaibu as the ringleader of a kidnap gang, who has allegedly been terrorizing people in the Northern part of the country with his accomplices namely, Haruna Saleh, Tukur Shuaibu and Abdulmumuni Adamuna. The suspects were arrested at the Murtala Mohammed Bridge along Lokoja – Abuja highway in Kogi State, with arms and ammunitions and the sum of N615,000.00, found on them.

    What about the Hausa/Fulani, do the have liscience to kill. Why have they not been arrested? Who permitted them to be carring Ak47 and willfully mascare innocent Nigerians. DSS please arrest them and prosecut. Is it because they are hausa/fulani that made them untouchable. Are they not criminal?
