… Urges vigilance during festivities

Ondo State Government on Thursday reassured residents of the state that robust and comprehensive security measures have been put in place across the state, particularly during the Easter celebrations.

While extending felicitations to Christian faithful for witnessing another Easter celebration, the state government emphasised that the safety of lives and property remains its topmost priority.

According to a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Idowu Ajanaku, extensive and coordinated security arrangements have been activated across the state to guarantee a peaceful, secure, and hitch-free festive period.

Ajanaku emphasised that the state under the watch of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has deployed security agencies with continuous surveillance and intelligence gathering to forestall any breach of peace.

With Ajanaku stressing that the proactive measures were aimed at ensuring that residents and visitors celebrate in an atmosphere of calm and safety, the government advised residents to remain vigilant and security-conscious at all times and to promptly report any suspicious movement or activity to relevant security agencies.

The statement read in parts, “Furthermore, the government called on the good people of Ondo State to continue to pray for the peace, unity, and progress of the state and Nigeria at large.”

“It specifically encouraged citizens to support and pray for the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as he advances the Renewed Hope Agenda towards national development and prosperity.

“The Ondo State Government reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to protecting the lives and property of all residents, assuring that no effort will be spared in maintaining law and order before, during, and after the Easter celebrations.

“The government wishes all Christian faithful a safe, peaceful, and fulfilling Easter celebration.”
