… Commends Tunji-Ojo on grassroots drive

Ebira community in Ondo State, at the weekend, endorsed President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima for a second term, citing what they described as visible achievements in infrastructure, education, agriculture, security, and economic reforms.

The endorsement, which was made through the Grassroots Movement for Tinubu (GMT) Ebira Wing, saw representatives from all 18 local council areas of the state unite in backing the president’s re-election bid in 2027.

While speaking at the endorsement event, the Coordinator of the GMT Ebira Wing, Hassan Ahete, stated that the community’s support was founded on what he described as courageous leadership and a clear vision for Nigeria’s future.

Ahete noted that despite inheriting economic and security challenges upon assuming office in 2023, Tinubu had embarked on bold reforms that were already reshaping the country’s trajectory.

He harped on the infrastructure projects, including the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and the Sokoto-Badagry Super Highway, as testament to the administration’s commitment to national development.

Ahete also praised the expansion of access to higher education through the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), which he said had opened doors for thousands of students who would otherwise have been unable to pursue tertiary education.

The coordinator further credited the administration with promoting agricultural productivity, youth empowerment initiatives, tax reforms, and improved security outcomes through enhanced support for security agencies.

He commended the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, over the implementation of impactful reforms and grassroots development initiatives as a true reflection of the Renewed Hope Agenda in action.

“The foundation has been laid, the projects have begun and the reforms are taking shape. We will mobilise our people to vote massively for President Tinubu and APC candidates,” Ahete stated.

The Asiwaju of Ebira in Akure Kingdom, Dr Ojo Yusuf Ozovehe, expressed gratitude to the people of Ondo State for their acceptance of the Ebira community and pledged unwavering support for the President.

He described the endorsement as a demonstration of the community’s appreciation for the administration’s inclusive approach to governance.

Apata Emerson, another community leader who spoke at the event, said the Ebira people remained committed to progressive politics, praising both Tinubu and Tunji-Ojo for what he termed impactful leadership that had touched lives across all communities, regardless of ethnic origin.

On his part, Dauda Sule, cited the administration’s road projects, the student loan scheme, and other development initiatives as key factors that informed the community’s decision to endorse the President.

The Director-General of GMT in Ondo State, Saka Yusuf-Ogunleye, described the endorsement as a reflection of growing support for Tinubu among non-indigenous communities in the state.

He disclosed that similar endorsements by the Igbo and Hausa communities would follow in the coming weeks, expressing confidence that the groundswell of support would translate into votes in the 2027 presidential election.

“These non-indigenous communities have identified with the Grassroots Movement for Tinubu because they are convinced that the President has performed creditably. Their support will certainly translate into votes as they return to mobilise their people,” Yusuf-Ogunleye said.
