Ebonyi State Government has asked commercial banks in the state transacting business with it to release statement of accounts from 2007 to 2017 or lose government patronage.

Ebonyi State Government has asked commercial banks in the state transacting business with it to release statement of accounts from 2007 to 2017 or lose government patronage.

The state Commissioner for Finance, Obinna Nwachukwu, who disclosed this yesterday while briefing journalists on the outcome of the state executive council meeting, said that government would stop all forms of businesses with any bank that failed to comply with the directive.

He said the state government took the decision to recover all the monies that were unlawfully or illegally deducted by various banks transacting businesses with it.

Nwachukwu said demanding the document from banks does not imply investigating the past administration in the state.
