The Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) on Wednesday bowed to the order of the court to present the former central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele before the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory.

Justice Olukayode Adegbola Adeniyi of Abuja Federal High Court had earlier made an order to the EFCC to unconditionally release the former CBN Governor or present him in court for bail.

The EFCC at the last sitting on Monday floated the order which it attributed to alleged confusion in the interpretation of the court order.

The court who was taken aback by the claim of the EFCC rejected the claim and reaffirmed his order that Emefiele be either released on bail or be produced in Court on Wednesday, November 8 for the purpose of admitting him to bail.

The Judge warned that the consequences of flouting the order would be enforced on the letters.
