Electoral fraud: More to testify against UNIUYO lecturer

More witnesses would be presented before Akwa Ibom State High Court sitting in Uyo, tomorrow, to give evidence in the ongoing case of electoral fraud involving Prof. Ignatius Uduk of the University of Uyo (UNIUYO).

More witnesses would be presented before Akwa Ibom State High Court sitting in Uyo, tomorrow, to give evidence in the ongoing case of electoral fraud involving Prof. Ignatius Uduk of the University of Uyo (UNIUYO).

This followed the conclusion of cross examination of the first prosecution witness, the Head of Electoral Operations at Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) headquarters, Uyo, Mr. Vincent Akpowene Oghene, yesterday.

Uduk, a professor of Physical and Health Education, who was the Collation/Returning Officer for Essien Udim State Constituency in 2019 elections, is being tried for allegedly announcing and publishing false election results.

During cross-examination, Mr. Oghene told the court that he knew Prof. Uduk during the election, and attested that the signatures on the documents that were admitted as evidence by the court belonged to the accused person.

Justice Bassey Nkanang adjourned the case till tomorrow for continuation of hearing.
