Entrepreneurship, skills critical to creating jobs, says Ezemonye
Nigerian youths were, yesterday, urged to embrace entrepreneurship development and skills acquisition to get out of unemployment in the country.
Vice Chancellor, Igbinedion University Okada (IUO), Prof. Lawrence Ezemonye, gave the charge in Okada, Edo State during the institution’s ninth Entrepreneurship Programme Exhibition and Trade Fair, involving 300 level students of the institution.
Ezemonye said entrepreneurship and skills acquisition were key to national development and urged the over 739 students of the 2021/2022 academic session graduating from the institution’s Entrepreneurship and Skills Acquisition Centre to ensure effective use of the skills garnered.
He noted that entrepreneurship development process helps new firms or ventures get better in achieving their goals, improving business and the nation’s economy.
The vice chancellor added that the combination of knowledge and skills has made the institution’s graduates most sought after as they leverage industry-academia interface before graduation, and are better prepared for life after graduation.
