Envoy lauds Nigeria, China ties
Chinese Consul-General, Mr. Cho Xiaoliang, has assured that his country would continue to nurture the cordial relationship with Nigeria.The envoy, who spoke in Abeokuta yesterday, disclosed that many Chinese investors had indicated their intention to do business in Ogun State due to the conducive environment the state government provided for industrial development.
Xiaoliang, speaking when he paid a courtesy call on the State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, stated, “This year marks the 45th anniversary of our diplomatic relationship. In April, President Muhammadu Buhari visited our country and met with our President, Xin Jinping and the visit show our close relationship and many things happened.
“We should continue to promote this relationship to bring the benefit to our people, we should keep the good relationship existing between us,” he affirmed.Xiaoliang, who assumed office early last month stressed, “I have heavy responsibility to ensure stability of the relationship and promote the current friendly relationship.”
“Ogun State is a state that have many Chinese companies and they are willing to contribute to the development of the state. I am here to reaffirm our relationship with Ogun State.”Governor Amosun assured the consul of his support, saying the state was one place that has many Chinese companies.
He revealed that the relationship the state had with China was cordial, saying that the state had partnered with a Chinese company to construct a railway line in the state.
