EU expended N170m monitoring 2019 polls, says Yakubu
Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Mahmood Yakubu, yesterday said the European Centre for Electoral Support (ECES) expended N170 million on this year’s general elections.
Speaking in Kano while opening a two-day 2019 post-election review workshop, Yakubu said the money was spent on activation and operations of INEC’s Electoral Monitoring and Support Centre (EMSC) across the federation during the polls.
Represented by his Chief Technical Adviser, Prof. Bolade Eyinla, the INEC boss lauded the ECES, stressing that the successful conduct of the exercise was attributable to the deployment and operation of the EMSC.
